THE GLIMPSE TRICK. Take a pack of cards, and mix them up, when you finish, take a sneaky look (glimpse) at the bottom card. Spread the deck of cards on the table, and ask a spectator to take one card. Pick up all the cards, and have the card returned to the top of the deck, the deck cut and squared. The chosen card will always be beneath the glimpsed card. One way to "reveal" it is to count through the cards, turning each one face up as you do. When you see the card you "glimpsed", you know the next card is the one the spectator chose. But rather than just turning it up and saying"that's your card", you keep on dealing cards on top of the one that was chosen.
"The next card I turn over will be your chosen card", you say. The spectator will be sure you're wrong, you pretend you're just about to turn over the top card of the pack - and he knows his card is already on the table. Of course, you don't turn over the top card, you go back through the cards dealt on the table, find the card that was chosen, and turn it back face down!
With this trick, you can even let the spectator shuffle the cards (really!). The chances are, that if you only let him shuffle a few times, the trick will still work - though sometimes, it will mean the cards do get separated, and the trick won't work. Just make sure you use this to your advantage - "of course", you say, "magic doesn't ALWAYS work, let me show you something else...."
I hope you like "The Glimpse". I have lots more magic tricks for you, please come back soon, and you'll find some new stuff here!
